Bark beetles must conquer the tree defense to reproduce and thrive. The genome of Eurasian spruce bark beetle, Ips typographus (Scolytinae), will aid in a better understanding of the adaptive physiology of the beetle and answer many other intriguing ecological questions. To facilitate the genome annotation pipeline of Ips typographus, we have performed transcriptome sequencing of 13 tissues obtained from different life stages of the beetle. The tissue transcriptome data used in the annotation pipeline of the genome and gave some important insights on the tissue-specific gene expression. Our tissue transcriptome data expanded the existing knowledge about gene expression and their fundamental function in different life stages of Ips typographus.

树皮甲虫需突破树木防御系统,方能完成繁殖并实现种群繁衍。欧洲云杉树皮甲虫(Ips typographus,小蠹亚科Scolytinae)的基因组,将助力学界更深入地解析该类甲虫的适应性生理机制,同时为诸多引人入胜的生态学问题提供解答。为优化欧洲云杉树皮甲虫的基因组注释流程,我们针对该甲虫不同生命阶段获取的13种组织开展了转录组测序。本次用于基因组注释流程的组织转录组数据,为解析组织特异性基因表达模式提供了关键洞见。本研究的组织转录组数据,拓展了学界对欧洲云杉树皮甲虫不同生命阶段基因表达及其核心功能的认知。
