SSU rRNA gene survey of clay microcosms

To study a diversity of microorganisms inhabiting commercial clay products, we performed Illumina Miseq paired-end sequencing of bacterial 16S rRNA gene amplicon (V3-V4 region) libraries retrieved from microcosms containing different types of as-received bentonite clays. Insights into microbiology of commercial clays are indispensable for prevention of potential biodeterioration of clay-based engineered barrier systems in deep underground industrial facilities

为探究栖息于商用黏土制品中的多样微生物群落，我们对从搭载不同类型未处理膨润土的微宇宙培养体系中获取的细菌16S rRNA基因扩增子（V3-V4区）文库开展了Illumina MiSeq双端测序。解析商用黏土的微生物学特性，对于防控地下深部工业设施内黏土基工程屏障体系潜在的生物劣化问题至关重要。
