Neisseria meningitidis is a major cause of bacterial meningitis and septicemia worldwide. Seven new serogroup C meningococci were isolated from two provinces of China in January, 2006. Their PorA VR types were P1.20, 9. Multilocus sequence typing results indicated that they all belonged to ST-7. It is a new serogroup C N. meningitidis sequence type clone identified in China. Here we also present the results of a genomic comparison of these isolates with other 15 N. meningitidis serogroup A and B isolates, which belonged to ST-7, based on comparative genomic hybridization analysis. The data described here would be helpful to monitor the spread of this new serogroup C meningococci sequence type clone in China and worldwide. Keywords: comparative genomic hybridization To compare the genome compositions of these menC ST-7 isolates with those of menC ST-4821 isolates, menA ST-7 isolates and menB ST-7 isolates, we performed comparative genomic hybridization (CGH) analysis among 17 N. meningitidis isolates (including two newly identified menC ST-7 isolates) using an updated version of the whole-genome microarray of N. meningitidis serogroup C isolate 053442 .

脑膜炎奈瑟菌(Neisseria meningitidis)是全球范围内细菌性脑膜炎与败血症的主要致病菌。2006年1月,我国两省共分离得到7株新型C群脑膜炎球菌,其PorA可变区(PorA VR)分型为P1.20、P1.9。多位点序列分型(Multilocus sequence typing, MLST)结果显示,所有菌株均归属于ST-7型。该类菌株为我国首次发现的新型C群脑膜炎奈瑟菌ST-7型克隆株。本研究同时基于比较基因组杂交(comparative genomic hybridization, CGH)分析技术,将上述分离株与另外15株归属于ST-7型的A群及B群脑膜炎奈瑟菌分离株开展基因组比较,并展示相关分析结果。本研究提供的数据将有助于监测该新型C群脑膜炎球菌ST-7型克隆株在我国乃至全球的传播态势。 关键词:比较基因组杂交(comparative genomic hybridization, CGH) 为对比本次新分离的C群ST-7型菌株与C群ST-4821型、A群ST-7型及B群ST-7型菌株的基因组组成,本研究采用更新版的C群脑膜炎奈瑟菌053442株全基因组微阵列,对包括2株新鉴定的C群ST-7型菌株在内的17株脑膜炎奈瑟菌分离株开展了比较基因组杂交分析。
