Peatlands are inherently unsuitable for agriculture because of their high acidity, poor inorganic content, and susceptibility to decomposition and nitrogen accumulation during high summer temperatures. However, bioprospecting for beneficial bacteria associated with decomposing soil organic matter offers a promising utilization of peat soil. We isolated Priestia aryabhattai KC-6A from the peatland in Hokkaido, Japan. Here, we determined its whole-genome sequence to characterize the genetic feature.

泥炭地(Peatlands)天生不适宜农业生产,究其根源在于其酸度偏高、无机养分匮乏,且在夏季高温条件下易发生有机质分解与氮累积现象。然而,针对与土壤腐解有机质相关的有益细菌开展生物勘探,为泥炭土壤的资源化利用开辟了极具前景的路径。本研究从日本北海道的泥炭地中分离得到阿氏普里斯特芽孢杆菌(Priestia aryabhattai)KC-6A,并通过测定其全基因组序列以解析其遗传特征。
