Alouatta seniculus gut metagenome

Shotgun metagenomics analysis was performed on fecal samples making a pool of six Alouatta seniculus individuals inhabiting western Colombian forests. DNA was extracted using the NMeasy PowerSoil commercial kit following the manufacturer's protocol. The pooled DNA sample was sent to Novogene (Shanghai, China) for Illumina shotgun sequencing. The study aims to characterize virulence factors, antibiotic resistance genes, and potentially pathogenic microorganisms present in these wild primates.

本研究对栖息于哥伦比亚西部森林的6只红吼猴（Alouatta seniculus）的粪便样本进行混合，随后针对该混合样本开展宏基因组鸟枪法（Shotgun metagenomics）分析。实验采用NMeasy PowerSoil商用试剂盒，严格遵循制造商提供的操作规程完成DNA提取。将该混合DNA样本送往位于中国上海的诺禾致源（Novogene）公司，开展基于伊卢米纳（Illumina）平台的鸟枪法测序。本研究旨在解析这些野生灵长类动物体内携带的毒力因子、抗生素抗性基因以及潜在致病微生物。
