The transcriptomics reads were used to build a new gene prediction workflow Using this approach, we could predict 21,506 Sf21 genes which were then functionally annotated. This integrative approach could be in theory applied to any genomes and results to valuable resources. With these information available, Sf21 cells will become an even better tools for protein expression and could be used in a wide range of applications, from promoter identifications to genome engineering and editing.
