本数据集收录了从体积分数为2.96%v/v（对应质量分数5%wt）的聚丙烯（PP）/纤维素复合材料的三维显微断层扫描（3D microtomography）图像中提取的12个芯样内，所检测到的全部真实颗粒的若干描述符数值，共计21570个颗粒。所有颗粒的检测均通过对灰度图像进行二值化（binarization）处理完成，所用阈值为105。
