Genome assembly of the sea turtle Caretta caretta

<i>Caretta caretta</i> is found in nearly all the world's temperate and tropical oceans: the Atlantic Ocean from Newfoundland to Argentina, the Indian Ocean from southern Africa to the Arabian Gulf to western Australia, the Mediterranean Sea, and the Pacific Ocean from Alaska to Chile and Australia to Japan. During winter months loggerhead sea turtles migrate to tropical and subtropical waters.<br>In this study we report the genomic sizes for haplotype-separated chromosome-scale assemblies for <i>C. caretta</i> are ~2.2 Gb, with contig N50 ~1.2 Gb. The annotated genes are 24,378 and 26,027 for Haploype 1 and Haplotype 2, respectively.

本研究报道了蠵龟的单倍型分离染色体级基因组组装的基因组大小约为2.2 Gb，其重叠群N50（contig N50）约为1.2 Gb。单倍型1与单倍型2的注释基因数量分别为24378和26027。
