Morphology and buoyancy-related data for Posidonia oceanica fruits

This is a dataset on the morphology and buoyancy related measurements of Posidonia oceanica fruits. The dataset includes direct measurements of fruit mass, three primary axes, volume, dimensions of the exposed portion of floating fruits, and dorsal protrusion height. In addition to measured variables, the dataset contains derived morphology data via previously measured values and established estimation equations describing fruit submerged and emerged volume when floating, density, total surface area, and exposed surface area when floating. These data provide a resource for analyses of fruit size, shape, density, and buoyancy in P. oceanica. The dataset may be reused in morphometric analyses and trait-based comparisons. It may also support broader work on fruit dispersal modelling integrating fruit morphology and influence of various environmental factors to support restoration activities.
