Minimum support price for kharif crops in India FY 2024, by type

In financial year 2024, the minimum support price of sesame was the highest among Kharif crops at over 8.6 thousand Indian rupees in India. Moong and Nigerseed ranked second and third that year respectively. Karif or monsoon crops are cultivated in the south Asian subcontinent from June to November. MSP, on the other hand, is a market intervention and farmer income scheme by the Indian government. The effectiveness of MSP, however, varies depending on the region largely due to the lack of farmer awareness.
