Three meteor shower candidates in Global Meteor Network orbits
收藏资源简介:
Three meteor shower candidates in Global Meteor Network (GMN) orbit data. None matches a shower in the IAU Meteor Data Center lists of 2026-10-23. C1: 12 to 20 December, radiant RA 183.5, Dec -38.5 (J2000, Centaurus), geocentric velocity 59.0 km/s, 106 members against a local background of 12.8. C2: 10 to 16 November, radiant RA 77.7, Dec -42.5, 31.2 km/s, 80 members against 7.2. C3: 2 to 5 May, radiant RA 308.8, Dec -69.5 (Pavo), 52.0 km/s, 51 members against 8.3. Its radiant coincides with the omicron-Pavonids, which move at 31 km/s; GMN separates the two groups by velocity. Each candidate returns in three separate years at 5 to 15 times its background and was recorded by 126 to 202 stations. The record holds the member lists (GMN trajectory identifiers), mean radiants with drift, velocities, median orbits, the comparison with listed showers, and scripts that rebuild every number from the GMN file generated 2026-10-26 10:05:59 UTC. The candidates were found by a blind density search and tested with separate code; no IAU Meteor Data Center submission has been made. GMN data are released under CC BY 4.0 (Vida et al. 2020, MNRAS 491, 2688; Vida et al. 2021, MNRAS 506, 5046). Searches and verification were carried out with Claude (Anthropic) under the direction of Kerem Özdemir.
