The effective teaching of the four essential language skills—listening, speaking, reading, and writing—remains one of the most complex challenges in English language education. Despite advances in methodology and technology, many learners still struggle to develop balanced communicative competence. Listening activities are often limited to passive comprehension rather than active interpretation; speaking lessons are hindered by fear of mistakes and lack of authentic contexts; reading tasks are treated as tests rather than opportunities for reflection; and writing instruction frequently focuses on form over creativity. This paper explores the underlying problems teachers face in developing these skills and proposes practical, learner-centered solutions. Drawing on communicative and task-based approaches, it argues that language skills should be taught in an integrated and meaningful way rather than in isolation. The study emphasizes the importance of creating a supportive classroom environment, using real-life materials, and encouraging interaction through collaborative projects and feedback. It also highlights the role of technology and differentiated instruction in addressing individual learner needs. Ultimately, the paper suggests that successful language skill teaching requires a shift from teacher-centered delivery to active learner participation, where language becomes not just an academic subject but a living tool for communication, creativity, and intercultural understanding.

英语语言教育领域中,听、说、读、写四大核心语言技能的有效教学,仍是最复杂的挑战之一。尽管教学方法与技术均有所进步,仍有大量学习者难以实现均衡的交际能力发展。听力活动往往局限于被动理解,而非主动阐释;口语课堂常因学习者畏惧出错、缺乏真实语境而受阻;阅读任务被视为应试环节而非反思契机;写作教学则常过度侧重形式而忽视创造性。 本文探析了教师在培养学生上述语言技能时面临的深层问题,并提出了以学习者为中心的务实解决方案。本文依托交际教学法与任务型教学路径,主张语言技能教学应采用整合化、有意义的方式,而非孤立割裂地开展。这项研究强调构建支持性课堂环境、使用真实生活素材,以及通过协作项目与反馈机制促进互动的重要性。此外,本文还凸显了技术与差异化教学在满足学习者个性化需求方面的作用。 最终,本文提出,高效的语言技能教学需实现从以教师为中心的讲授,向学习者主动参与的转变——在此过程中,语言不仅是一门学术学科,更成为用于交际、创造与跨文化理解的鲜活工具。
