The Qaidam Basin is located in the northeastern section of the Plateau of Tibet, occupying the northwestern part of Qinghai province, western China. The basin is almost entirely an area of interior drainage, with rivers discharging either into Koko Nor or into one of the numerous salt lakes and saline swamps in the basin's central area, such as Tuosu, Dasugan, Gahai, Gasikule and Xiaochaidan.

柴达木盆地（Qaidam Basin）地处青藏高原（Plateau of Tibet）东北部，占据中国西部青海省西北部。该盆地几乎全境均为内流区，河流径流要么注入青海湖（Koko Nor），或汇入盆地中部的众多盐湖与盐沼之中，诸如托素湖（Tuosu）、大苏干湖（Dasugan）、尕海（Gahai）、尕斯库勒湖（Gasikule）以及小柴旦湖（Xiaochaidan）。
