SepsOMICS

Sepsis is one of the leading causes of death worldwide. We isolated the bacteria from the blood of patients presenting to the emergency department at a major hospital in Oslo, Norway with symptoms of suspected sepsis. Our collection consists of approximately 700 bacterial isolates belonging to the most common species that cause blood stream infections. Using comparative genomics, we aim to better understand the contribution of the bacterial genetics to the burden of blood stream infections and ultimately sepsis in humans.脓毒症（Sepsis）是全球范围内的主要致死病因之一。我们从挪威奥斯陆一所大型医院急诊科收治的疑似脓毒症患者血液中分离得到细菌菌株。本菌株库共包含约700株细菌分离株，均隶属于引发血流感染的最常见致病菌物种。本研究采用比较基因组学方法，旨在更深入地解析细菌遗传学特征对人类血流感染乃至脓毒症疾病负担的贡献。
