Geology of the MacDonald

These data are a digital representation of information depicted on the printed map of the MacDonald 1:250 000 Geological Series produced by AGSO and the Geological Survey of Western Australia (GSWA) in 1968.Data present include geological polygons (litho-stratigraphic units), linear structural features (faults, dykes, folds, trends, lineaments etc), and point features (mines, structural points etc). Polygons have a range of attributes extracted from each individual map including unit name, age and lithological description, while lines and points are feature coded according to the AGSO publication 'Symbols Used On Geological Maps' (BMR 1989). A standard look-up table of AGSO geological codes and associated descriptions is available (see ADDITIONAL METADATA).The data has gradually evolved from elementary CAD quality data into its present topologically structured GIS format, and hence has many imperfections and inconsistencies. 本数据集为1968年由澳大利亚地质科学局（Australian Geological Survey Organisation, AGSO）与西澳大利亚地质调查局（Geological Survey of Western Australia, GSWA）编制的《麦克唐纳1:250000地质系列图》印刷版图件信息的数字化成果。数据集包含的要素类型有地质多边形（岩性地层单元）、线性构造要素（断层、岩脉、褶皱、构造走向、线性构造等）以及点状要素（矿山、构造点位等）。地质多边形附带从单幅图件中提取的多类属性字段，包括单元名称、形成时代与岩性描述；而线状与点状要素则依据AGSO发布的《地质图图式》（BMR 1989）进行编码。配套提供AGSO地质编码及对应说明的标准查询表（详见附加元数据章节）。本数据集从最初的基础计算机辅助设计（Computer Aided Design, CAD）级数据逐步演进为当前的拓扑结构化地理信息系统（Geographic Information System, GIS）格式，因此仍存在部分瑕疵与不一致之处。数据集已通过包含80余项检测在内的严格验证与测试，所用数据标准的详细信息请参见附加元数据章节。
