Selection of Han dynasty paronomastic glosses

This is a digitized collection of the paronomastic glosses found in the appendix of W. South Coblin, A handbook of Eastern Han sound glosses, Hong Kong: Chinese univ. Press, 1983.

Whereas Coblin used the Old and Middle Chinese reconstructions of Li Fang-Kuei, this dataset uses the Late Han reconstructions of Axel Schuessler (Minimal Old Chinese and Later Han Chinese: A Companion to Grammata Serica Recensa, Honolulu: University of Hawai‘i Press, 2009).

The data set is incomplete, ending mid way through Xu Shen, and many characters were not found in Schuessler 2009.

本数据集为W·索思·科布林（W. South Coblin）所撰《东汉音注手册》（*A Handbook of Eastern Han Sound Glosses*，香港中文大学出版社1983年版）附录所载谐音注释（paronomastic glosses）的数字化汇编。

相较于科布林采用李方桂的上古、中古汉语构拟方案，本数据集则改用阿克塞尔·舒塞勒（Axel Schuessler）在《最简上古汉语与后汉语文：〈修订汉文典〉配套指南》（*Minimal Old Chinese and Later Han Chinese: A Companion to Grammata Serica Recensa*，檀香山：夏威夷大学出版社2009年版）中提出的东汉晚期汉语构拟体系。

本数据集并不完整，内容在涉及许慎《说文解字》的部分中途终止，且有大量汉字未被收录于舒塞勒2009年的相关研究中。
