Lab 3 Dataset 4 - Bird Species Abundance Along a Transect, Group 4

This lab was executed to determine the species abundance in a specific area. 10 belt transects of 10 metres by 10 metres were laid out randomly, 5 in the Danby grasslands and 5 in the Danby woodlot, each watched for 1 minute. Each time a bird landed in the transect or flew over it, the species and abundance was recorded. The species was determined by the observers with the help of <em>Person Field Guide to Birds of North America</em> by Roger Tory Peterson . The approximate distance from the beginning of the transect to the sighting of the bird was recorded. The wind speed was determined using the observers discretion and the Beaufort Scale. Data was collected at Danby grasslands and Danby woodlot at York University on September 30th, 2015 around 3:30pm. The weather was around 15°C with a slight overcast and mild breeze. Michael Angelini and Kate Britanico.本实验旨在测定特定区域内的物种丰度。本次实验随机布设10条10米×10米的带状样带（belt transect），其中丹比草原（Danby grasslands）与丹比林地（Danby woodlot）各5条，每条样带的观测时长为1分钟。每当有鸟类飞入样带范围或飞越样带上空时，观测人员需记录其所属物种与种群丰度。物种鉴定由观测人员借助罗杰·托里·彼得森（Roger Tory Peterson）所著的《北美鸟类野外指南》（*Person Field Guide to Birds of North America*）完成。同时记录该鸟类发现位置距样带起点的近似水平距离。风速则由观测人员结合主观判断与蒲福风力等级（Beaufort Scale）进行测定。本数据集采集于2015年9月30日下午约3:30，采集地点为约克大学（York University）内的丹比草原与丹比林地。当日气温约15℃，天气为轻微阴天，伴有柔和微风。本次实验的第4小组成员包括：克里斯汀·德尔·罗萨里奥（Kristine Del Rosario）、纳萨尔·汗（Nassar Khan）、迈克尔·安杰利尼（Michael Angelini）与凯特·布里塔尼科（Kate Britanico）。
