Trueperella pyogenes is a Gram-positive opportunistic bacterium frequently isolated from a variety of pyogenic infections, mainly mastitis, pyometra, pneumonia, and abscesses in cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, horses etc. Recently it has been detected in uterus of pregnant cattle. It has been also considered to act as a primary uterine pathogen. Although T. pyogenes is associated with severe endometritis, it has also been isolated from cows without signs of uterine disease at puerperium. The bacteria is economically important as diseases caused by this bacteria can cause losses related to mortality, respiratory infections, and pregnancy losses.

化脓隐秘杆菌（Trueperella pyogenes）是一种革兰氏阳性（Gram-positive）机会致病菌，常从多种化脓性感染病灶中分离得到，主要见于牛、绵羊、山羊、猪、马等动物的乳腺炎、子宫蓄脓、肺炎及脓肿。近期有研究在妊娠母牛的子宫中检出该菌，同时它也被认定为原发性子宫致病菌。尽管化脓隐秘杆菌与重症子宫内膜炎密切相关，但也曾从产褥期无子宫疾病症状的母牛体内分离得到该菌。该菌具备重要的经济意义，因其引发的疾病可导致动物死亡、呼吸道感染以及妊娠丢失等相关经济损失。
