Raw data for: Ambiental impacts of a dumpsite in a mangrove ecosystem

The management of solid waste is one of the challenges of large urban centers. The Itaoca dump in São Gonçalo, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, has existed for 28 years in the mangrove region. This experiment assessed environmental liability through a sedimentary profile collected from a drainage channel adjacent to the mangrove. In this profile, biopolymers (organic matter and total organic carbon) and metals' total and available fractions (Al, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Hg, Cd, Pb, and Zn) were quantified, serving as descriptors of the local trophic status.

固体废物管理是大型城市中心面临的核心挑战之一。坐落于巴西里约热内卢州圣贡萨洛市的伊托卡（Itaoca）垃圾填埋场，已在红树林区域运营28年。本实验通过采集毗邻该红树林的排水沟渠沉积剖面，对该区域的环境责任（environmental liability）进行了评估。实验对该沉积剖面中的生物聚合物（biopolymers，涵盖有机质与总有机碳（total organic carbon））以及各类金属的全量与有效态组分（铝Al、钒V、铬Cr、锰Mn、铁Fe、钴Co、镍Ni、铜Cu、汞Hg、镉Cd、铅Pb与锌Zn）进行了定量分析，上述指标可作为表征当地营养状态（trophic status）的描述因子。
