Analysing the plasmid-mediated transfer of mcr-1 in E. coli from meat. Escherichia coli

Using hybrid assembly of short-read and long-read whole-genome sequencing data, the presence of mcr-1 was confirmed on an IncI1 plasmid in E. coli. In vitro conjugation assays were performed to determine the potential to transfer between strains. Genetic comparison with previously reported IncI1 plasmids was performed.

本研究利用短读长与长读长全基因组测序数据的混合组装策略，证实大肠杆菌（E. coli）的IncI1型质粒携带mcr-1基因。通过体外接合试验，测定了该质粒在菌株间的转移潜能；并与已报道的IncI1型质粒开展了遗传比对分析。
