Images from Historic Building Recording Work at Building 3, Vauxhall Industrial Estate, February to April 2022

This collection comprises images from Historic Building Recording work at Building 3, Vauxhall Industrial estate, Stockport. This work was undertaken by Paul Butler Associates February to April 2022.
The recording work was required prior to the demolition of Building 3 and included production of a photographic survey, measured plan and section, and physical description. The building was found to be a likely boiler house for the works, in use from 1900 until the late 1930's to early 1940's, when it changed use.The building was likely constructed around 1900, when the works first opened. The southern extension appears to have been completed by the time of the 1916 Ordnance Survey map, with the building appearing as approximately square in plan.

本次测绘工作系3号建筑拆除前的必要前置工作，内容涵盖摄影测绘、实测平剖面图绘制及建筑实体描述。经勘查确认，该建筑大概率为园区配套锅炉房，服役时段为1900年至20世纪30年代末至40年代初，此后变更了使用功能。该建筑的建造时间大概率与园区初创的1900年前后一致。根据1916年英国地形测量局（Ordnance Survey）发布的地图显示，该建筑南侧扩建部分已于彼时完工，此时建筑平面大致呈正方形。
