Channels and neighbourhoods monitoring landscape

This file contains the channels and districts located within the province of Groningen that together form the monitoring file for the Monitor Landscape. Every four years, these canals and districts are judged on their ‘state’. It is a selection within the total of canals and neighborhoods within the province.The province of Groningen focuses on the preservation and possibly restoration of landscape and cultural historically valuable canals and neighbourhoods and the associated elements such as abandoned (sluices), bridges etc. These canals and neighbourhoods are characteristic of the Veenkoloniën, the southern part of the Westerkwartier and some small areas in Westerwolde. Many channels and neighbourhoods have already been muted because they have lost their function. The canals and neighbourhoods are further affected by agricultural use, in particular by the gradual damping of waste material. Because of the lack of maintenance, many districts land. As a result, the peat colonial landscape loses one of its characteristic features. To prevent this, Provincial Environmental Regulation 2016 lays down rules for the protection of the remaining channels and districts and the related supporting elements.本数据集收录格罗宁根省（Groningen）境内的河道与街区，共同组成《景观监测》（Monitor Landscape）的监测档案。该类监测对象每四年会针对其“状态”开展一次全面评估。本数据集为该省全部河道与街区的精选子集。格罗宁根省致力于保护并可修复具有景观与历史文化价值的河道、街区及其附属设施，例如废弃水闸（sluices）、桥梁等。此类河道与街区是泥炭垦殖区（Veenkoloniën）、西夸蒂尔（Westerkwartier）南部区域以及西沃尔德（Westerwolde）境内部分小型片区的典型风貌代表。诸多河道与街区因丧失原有功能，已逐步失去活力。此外，农业活动对该类对象造成了进一步负面影响，尤以废弃物的逐步淤积为甚。由于缺乏维护，诸多街区的土地状况持续恶化，致使泥炭垦殖景观丧失了一项核心典型特征。为遏制此类情况发生，《2016年省级环境条例》（Provincial Environmental Regulation 2016）针对剩余河道与街区及其相关附属设施的保护制定了明确规范。
