For the first three files (Generation 12-35 assays), the coding variables for the two dependent variables, development time and weight, are Line (1-3), Subline (NonReverted and Reverted), and Sex (F or M). These columns are followed by coding variables for the third dependent variable Survival: Line, Subline, and Survival (Yes or No). These columns are followed by the actual counts in each Y or N column. All of the dependent variables were measured solely on lentil seeds. For the Generation 45 assay, only the L1 and L1R lines were used, but beetle performance was measured on both lentil seeds and mung beans. The coding variables for development time and weight are Subline (NR or R), Host (MUNG OR LENTIL), and Sex (F or M).
