To identify genes and gene networks that are involved in the multicellular trichome development in cucumber (Cucumis sativus), we performed two sets of genome-wide expression analyses using Digital Gene Expression (DGE) technology. One set was to compare the transcriptome profiles of the pericarps (epidermis plus spines) of 1.6-1.8cm cucumber fruits between WT and the tbh mutant, and the other set was to compare the spine-specific expression profiles before (fruit length about 0.5cm) and after (fruit length around 1.6cm) fruit base expansion.

为鉴定参与黄瓜(Cucumis sativus)多细胞表皮毛发育的基因及基因调控网络,本研究采用数字基因表达谱(Digital Gene Expression, DGE)技术开展了两组全基因组表达分析。其中一组比较了1.6~1.8cm长的黄瓜果实果皮(表皮连带果刺)在野生型(Wild Type, WT)与tbh突变体间的转录组表达谱;另一组则比较了果实基部膨大前(果长约0.5cm)与膨大后(果长约1.6cm)的果刺特异性表达谱。
