本数据集为冰核粒子（Ice Nucleating Particle, INP）数浓度实测数据，由科罗拉多州立大学的连续流扩散室（Continuous Flow Diffusion Chamber, CFDC）测得；该设备搭载于澳大利亚联邦科学与工业研究组织（CSIRO）“调查者号”（R/V Investigator）科研考察船，用于“南大洋云、气溶胶、降水、辐射与大气成分（CAPRICORN-2）”科考项目，且该项目与SOCRATES科考项目同期开展。
