Sulfate is recognized as a primary sulfur source for plant growth and effects of thiosulfate as a sulfur source on plant growth and metabolism, gene expression have not been studied. We used microarrays to detail the global programme of gene expression in response to thiosulfate as a sulfur source. Arabidopsis Col-0 WT plants were hydroponically grown for 8 wks under short day condition, and roots were sampled for RNA extraction and hybridization on Affymetrix microarrays.
