Standardized organic geochemistry of sediment core PG2360 from Lake Bety (Yakutia, Russia)

This data set is part of a larger data harmonization effort to make lake sediment core data machine readable and comparable. Here we standardized organic carbon data of sediment core PG2360, retrieved in 2016 from Lake Bety (Yakutia, Russia) at 1.5 m water depth. The thermokarst lake Bety is a small thermkarst lake in the coniferous forest area and has one outflow and three inflows. It lies at an elevation of ca. 160 m a.s.l. with a surface area of ca. 0.66 km2 and a maximum lake water depth of estimated 1.5 m. The 2.31 m sediment core was retrieved by a Russian peat corer during the RU-Land_2016_Yakutia Expedition of the Alfred Wegener Institute Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research (AWI, Germany, Potsdam) in cooperation with the North Eastern Federal State University (NEFU, Russia, Yakutsk). Organic carbon, inorganic carbon, and nitrogen from the sediment samples was analyzed in the laboratories of AWI Potsdam.本数据集隶属于一项更大规模的数据标准化工作，旨在实现湖泊沉积物岩芯数据的机器可读化与可对比性。本次研究对2016年从俄罗斯雅库特地区贝蒂湖（Lake Bety）水深1.5米处采集的PG2360号沉积物岩芯的有机碳数据完成了标准化处理。贝蒂湖为热融喀斯特湖，是针叶林分布区内的小型热融喀斯特湖，设有1处出水口与3处入水口；该湖海拔约160 m a.s.l.（高于海平面），湖面面积约0.66平方千米，最大水深估算为1.5米。本次获取的2.31米长沉积物岩芯，由俄罗斯泥炭取样器采集，采集工作依托德国阿尔弗雷德·魏格纳研究所亥姆霍兹极地与海洋研究中心（Alfred Wegener Institute Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research, AWI，德国波茨坦）与俄罗斯东北联邦大学（North Eastern Federal State University, NEFU，俄罗斯雅库茨克）合作开展的RU-Land_2016_Yakutia科考项目完成。沉积物样品中的有机碳、无机碳与氮含量，均在位于德国波茨坦的阿尔弗雷德·魏格纳研究所实验室完成分析测试。
