本研究采用CDC瓶生物测定法（CDC bottle bioassay），将133只2~3日龄、未吸血的处女雌性野外捕获冈比亚按蚊（An. gambiae s.s.）的F1子代，暴露于5倍浓度（107.5 μg/ml）的氯菊酯鉴别剂量环境中。生物测定结束后，研究人员从抗性蚊虫与敏感蚊虫中各选取50只，针对击倒抗性（kdr）东、西突变（MapVEu VBP0000764）开展分子筛查。
