We experimentally manipulated early life diets in the first 7 months after hatching by using natural diets and formula diets for two experimental groups of Yangtze sturgeon and then introduced some of the individuals from these two groups into the natural environment with labels. We monitored body length and weight and gut microbes, and then, by analyzing the two groups’ growth characteristics and gut microbes, we discussed the mechanisms of how diet training impacts postrelease fitness and survival.
本研究以长江鲟(Yangtze sturgeon)的两个实验组为对象,在其孵化后前7个月的生命早期阶段,分别采用天然饵料与配合饲料操控其早期饮食模式。随后将两组中的部分个体标记后放归至自然环境中。研究人员对受试个体的体长、体重以及肠道微生物进行了监测,进而通过对比分析两组的生长特征与肠道微生物组成,探讨了早期饮食调控如何影响个体放归后适合度与存活能力的作用机制。
