Lease Sale Tract Current

The lease sale tract represents the lands the Division of Oil and Gas is committed to adjudicating prior to a lease. A lease sale tract is not an authorization. A lease may be awarded after a responsive bid on a lease sale tract is accepted and the lease is adjudicated. Inclusion of land within a lease sale tract does not guarantee the State of Alaska owns the oil, gas, or geothermal resource on all lands within the tract. In addition, part or all of the State-owned land may have a lease in effect, either issued or on appeal. The source and official record are LAS case files available here.
