Canning Estuary and Lower Canning River Water Quality Monitoring 2017-18

The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA) conducts routine monitoring of water quality in the Swan Canning Estuary. Data collected through the monitoring program is used to inform management of the river system by DBCA.

Data produced through the monitoring program provides essential information to assess system response to management actions and to report against estuary water quality targets, and phytoplankton trigger levels. Data produced have also been utilised in numerous investigations conducted by both government agencies and tertiary institutions, including modelling, that contribute to our understanding of estuary condition and response and that evaluate potential impacts on the system into the future.

Data collected is stored in the Water Information Network (WIN) database maintained by the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation (DWER) and is made publicly available via the Water Information Reporting (WIR) portal.

生物多样性、保护与旅游部（Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions，DBCA）会对天鹅-坎宁河口（Swan Canning Estuary）开展常规水质监测工作。该项目采集的数据，将为DBCA的河流水系管理提供决策支撑。

本监测项目产出的数据，可为评估水系对管理措施的响应情况、对照河口水质目标及浮游植物触发阈值开展绩效报告提供关键支撑。此外，这些数据已被广泛应用于政府机构与高等院校的多项研究中，包括各类建模工作——这些研究既有助于深化我们对河口状况与响应机制的认知，也可用于评估该水系未来可能面临的潜在影响。

所采集的数据将被存储于由水与环境监管部（Department of Water and Environmental Regulation，DWER）维护的水资源信息网络（Water Information Network，WIN）数据库中，并通过水资源信息报告（Water Information Reporting，WIR）门户面向公众开放获取。
