Different effects and interrelation of expectation and exogenous attention in a visual identification task

Expectation and attention have been described as two crucial factors in consciousness. However, studies have focused on the interrelation of top-down or endogenous attention and expectation in conscious perception, while bottom-up or exogenous attention and expectation have remained largely unexplored. Therefore, we used a modified version of the peripheral cueing paradigm to explore the interrelation of expectation and exogenous attention on visual processing.预期（Expectation）与注意（Attention）已被学界视为意识活动中的两大核心要素。然而，现有研究多聚焦于意识知觉中自上而下（top-down）或内源性（endogenous）注意与预期的交互关系，而自下而上（bottom-up）或外源性（exogenous）注意与预期的关联则尚未得到充分探索。为此，本研究采用改良版外周提示范式（peripheral cueing paradigm），探究预期与外源性注意在视觉加工过程中的交互关系。
