Larval Echinococcus granulosus infection causes colonic pathology and functional reprogramming in mice

The intestinal tract serves as an important regulator for nutrient absorption and systemic health. However, its role in anti-parasitic infection and immunity has been largely neglected, especially when a parasite is not orally transmission. By utilizing an intraperitoneal infection model, the present study investigated for the first time, that the intestinal histopathology and functional reprogramming in mice.

肠道是营养吸收与全身健康的重要调控位点。然而其在抗寄生虫感染及免疫防御中的作用长期被忽视，尤其当寄生虫并非经口传播时。本研究首次采用腹腔感染模型，对小鼠肠道的组织病理学改变与功能重编程开展了探究。
