The dataset was developed to support the "Analysis of Life-cycle Greenhouse
Gas Emissions and Removals of EU Buildings and Construction" project, the aim of which is to assess the current and future environmental impacts of the European building sector through the development of a building stock model, using a life cycle assessment (LCA) approach.
This dataset contains information on life cycle scenarios pertaining the construction and end-of-life stages, focusing on building material transport to and from the construction site (means of transport, distances, route types) and on waste handling (shares of material per waste treatment type). The dataset was used as background information to carry out the aforementioned LCA study.
Data are made available for each EU Member State and encompass a set of common construction materials.
