CONTEXTUAL ANALYSIS OF COMPOUND WORDS IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE

This article examines compound words in the English language from a contextual perspective. The study focuses on the structural, semantic, and functional characteristics of compounds and investigates how contextual factors influence their interpretation and usage. The research demonstrates that the meaning of compound words is not always predictable from their individual components and often depends on linguistic and situational contexts. Various examples from contemporary English are analyzed to illustrate the role of context in understanding compound formations. The findings contribute to the broader study of morphology, semantics, and discourse analysis.本文从语境视角出发，对英语复合词开展系统性考察。本研究聚焦复合词的结构、语义与功能特征，探究语境因素如何影响其释义与使用。研究表明，复合词的语义并非总能通过其单个构成成分直接推导得出，其释义往往依赖语言语境与情景语境。本研究选取当代英语中的各类实例进行分析，以阐明语境在理解复合词构式过程中的重要作用。本研究成果可为形态学、语义学及话语分析的相关研究提供有益补充。
