This record contains preclinical longitudinal MRI T2 datasets of experimental ischemic stroke rats. Data acquired in a Bruker Biospec 7T using Paravision 5.1. Spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR) were subjected to 90‑minute transient middle cerebral artery occlusion (tMCAO) and received suberoylanilide hydroxamic acid (SAHA) 4 hours after reperfusion. Quantitative T2 maps were acquired at Days 1 and 8 post-occlusion.
