Provenance is well known to be a reliable source of information regarding the geological history and sedimentation of a particular area. However, there is still considerable controversy and a lack of knowledge in certain areas; namely, there is little research on the influence of the grain size effect and modern sediment composition. Using the inverse model with a geochemical data set, this study identified the elemental and sedimentary contents of the north Jiangsu radial sand ridges, as well as the source locations of sediment transported to the study area by nearby rivers and other bodies of water. Additionally, this study revealed the approximate contribution of sediment of each source to the study area.

物源(provenance)作为获取特定区域地质历史与沉积作用相关信息的可靠手段,这一观点已得到学界广泛认可。然而当前部分研究方向仍存在较大争议,且相关认知尚存不足:具体而言,针对粒度效应与现代沉积物组分的影响的研究仍较为匮乏。本研究采用结合地球化学数据集的反演模型,明确了苏北辐射沙脊群的元素组成与沉积组分特征,并厘清了由邻近河流及其他水体搬运至研究区域的沉积物的物源位置。此外,本研究还估算了各物源沉积物对研究区的贡献占比。
