A thermoalkaliphilic bacterium which forms branching cell morphs.. Anaerobranca gottschalkii

Anaerobranca gottschalkii LBS3. This bacterium was isolated from an alkaline soil sample from a hot inlet of Lake Bogoria, Kenya. Unlike previously isolated thermoalkaliphiles, the strain is able to grow heterotrophically on a variety of mono- and polysaccharides. About 2-10% of the cells exhibit a branching morph when grown in liquid culture.

戈氏厌氧杆菌（Anaerobranca gottschalkii）LBS3菌株。该菌株分离自肯尼亚博戈里亚湖热进水口处的碱性土壤样品。与此前已分离的嗜热嗜碱菌不同，该菌株可利用多种单糖及多糖进行异养生长。在液体培养条件下，约2%~10%的菌体呈现分支形态。
