Data from: Drivers of eyespot evolution in coral reef fishes

This dataset contains three separate spreadsheets detailing categorical data about eyespots on coral reef fishes. The largest spreadsheet contains presence/absence data of eyespots across 2664 species of reef fish. The second spreadsheet contains categorical data that relates the location of an eyespot to a fishes ecology. It contains one column which lists the location of the eyespot (anterior or posterior) and the ecology of the fish species (active swimming or cryptobenthic). The third spreadsheet contains categorical data relating the feeding ecology of damselfish species to eyespot presence. For each species present in the dataset, there is a column that contains the presence/absence of an eyespot for that species (yes/no) and whether the species is a planktivore or not (plank/other).

本数据集包含三张独立的电子表格，详细记录了珊瑚礁鱼类（coral reef fishes）眼斑（eyespot）的分类数据。其中规模最大的电子表格涵盖了2664种礁栖鱼类的眼斑存在/缺失数据。第二张电子表格包含关联眼斑位置与鱼类生态特征的分类数据，其单列内容分别记录了眼斑位置（前部或后部）以及对应鱼类的生态类型（主动游泳型（active swimming）或隐蔽底栖型（cryptobenthic））。第三张电子表格记录了雀鲷（damselfish）物种的摄食生态与眼斑存在情况的关联分类数据。针对数据集中的每一物种，均设有一列用于记录该物种的眼斑存在状态（是/否），以及该物种是否为浮游食者（对应列以plank/other标注，plank代表浮游食者，other代表非浮游食者类群）。
