In this study, we performed a meta-analysis aimed at quantifying the impacts of vegetation restoration on soil fungal communities. By analyzing data from 185 studies worldwide, we compared fungal communities across restored, degraded, and reference sites to assess restoration trajectories and how they are influenced by different strategies and restoration time. Our analysis focused on three main aspects: (a) the overall effect of vegetation restoration on soil fungal communities, (b) the influence of different restoration strategies (active restoration versus natural regeneration), and (c) the impact of time since restoration.
