The present study aimed to investigate the benefits of using a strain of European sea bass selected for growth in a nutritional challenge with a “future” practical dietary formulation completely devoid of fish oil (FO) and with low percentage of fishmeal (FM).Briefly, two sea bass strains, one genetically selected for growth (GS), and the other one not selected (NGS) were fed with two experimental diets: a control diet (A) mimicking a commercial diet based on low FM (20%) and FO (9%), and a “future” diet (B) completely devoid of FO and with low percentage of FM (10%). Fish were fed for nine months in triplicate (3 tanks/diet/genotype). At the beginning (T0) and at the end of feeding trial,two fish per tank were sampled (6 fish/diet/genotype) and the entire intestine was aseptically removed and used for microbiota analysis.

本研究旨在探究生长性状选育欧洲海鲈(European sea bass)品系,在采用完全不含鱼油(fish oil, FO)且鱼粉(fishmeal, FM)占比极低的“未来型”实用饲料配方开展的营养挑战试验中的应用效益。简言之,试验设置两种海鲈品系:一是经遗传选育的生长优系(genetically selected for growth, GS),二是未选育的对照品系(non-selected, NGS);同时配置两种实验饲料:对照饲料A模拟低FM(20%)、FO(9%)的商用饲料配方,“未来型”饲料B则完全剔除FO且FM占比仅为10%。试验周期为9个月,每饲料-基因型组合设置3个重复养殖缸(即3缸/饲料/基因型)。于试验初始节点(T0)及饲喂试验结束时,每个养殖缸取样2尾鱼(即6尾/饲料/基因型),无菌摘取全肠道样本用于微生物组分析。
