This dataset is a 2020 spatial distribution map of land desertification severity in the semi-arid regions of China, formatted as raster data. It was produced for China's desertification remote sensing monitoring, which is categorized into five climate-based desertification zones: humid region, semi-humid arid region, semi-arid region, arid region, and extremely arid region. During the production process, the land desertification status of the other four zones excluding the humid region was quantified, as no desertification is considered to occur in humid regions.
