In a field experiment, we evaluated the impact of 37 years of contrasting water stress history on the microbial response in various plant compartments at two distinct developmental stages when four wheat genotypes were exposed to contemporary water stress. Seeds were collected and sampled at the end of the experiment to characterize endophytic and epiphytic microbial communities. The data consist of 16S rRNA gene and ITS region amplicon sequences.

本田间试验针对4个小麦基因型施加当前水分胁迫,于两个不同发育阶段,评估了37年差异化水分胁迫历史对植物不同组织分区微生物响应的影响。试验结束后采集种子样本,以表征内生(endophytic)与附生(epiphytic)微生物群落。本数据集包含16S rRNA基因(16S rRNA gene)与ITS区(ITS region)的扩增子测序序列。
