The Department of Energy (DOE) Joint Genome Institute (JGI) sequenced the Laccaria bicolor strain S238N-H82 genome at 9.9X coverage using whole genome shotgun (WGS) sequencing. Version 1.0 of the genome assembly consists of 4,401 nuclear genome contigs in 665 scaffolds. The draft genome assembly has been annotated with gene models in a collaborative effort involving JGI, Ghent University, Belgium, and other members of the Laccaria Genome Consortium.
