In this project, our goal was to compare the transcriptional response of C. elegans to the Gram-positive pathogen S. aureus, and the metabolic stress imposed by starvation. To this end, we either infected C. elegans with S. aureus or starved them for 4h. We then extracted the RNA from the two samples and subsequently performed transcriptional profiling by RNA sequencing. RNA sequencing was done in wild type (N2- Bristol isolate) and hlh-30(tm1978) mutant animals.
