Discharge Field Measurements and SWORD linked subset
收藏资源简介:
We plan to submit this dataset and a manuscript describing it to Scientific Data.. TBD. DFM -Combined US + Brazil discharge field measurements DFMS- SWORD-matched measurements (US + Brazil combined) DFMS station matches - Station-level SWORD match metadata and SWOT-era activity flag We present Discharge Field Measurements version 1 (DFM.v1), an archive of 4,996,138 discharge field measurements from 75,754 stream gaging stations operated by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and, in Brazil, by the Geological Survey of Brazil (SGB) within the national network of the Agência Nacional de Águas e Saneamento Básico (ANA), standardized to SI units. Each record pairs a discharge value with the channel measurements taken at the same visit — channel width, cross-sectional area, mean velocity, calculated mean depth, and gage height — with channel geometry present on 81–83% of records. After quality flagging, measured widths range from sub-meter to 9,144 m and discharge from −27,014 m³/s at tidal sites to 279,000 m³/s. Discharge Field Measurements for SWOT (DFMS.v1) is a subset of 4,769 DFM.v1 stations matched to the SWOT River Database (SWORD) v17b river centerlines. 2,223 of these stations have field measurements during the SWOT science mission (April 2023 – present) for direct satellite validation. DFM.v1 preserves the complete raw measurement archive so users can re-index stations as SWORD and other river networks are updated. Both datasets are provided in Apache Parquet format and gzipped CSV.
