In Arabidopsis thaliana, SQUAMOSA PROMOTER BINDING PROTEIN-LIKE9 (SPL9), a plant-specific transcription factor targeted for repression by miR156, is an important regulator of age-dependent leaf development. To obtain a genome-wide understanding of SPL9-dependent gene expression, this RNA-seq experiment was performed. Transcriptomes of developing leaves of SPL9 loss- and gain-of-function were compared to their wild-type Col-0 counterparts, in the context of age-dependent leaf node increase and leaf maturation progression.
