This study evaluated whether the marine microalga Crypthecodinium cohnii can use lactic acid (LA) as a carbon source for biomass growth and DHA (omega-3) production. It assessed growth performance, lipid accumulation, fatty acid composition, lactic acid concentrations, and nitrogen sources in batch cultures.
