This record contains Part 01 of the global optical kernel moisture dataset (kNDMI and kSVMI) and covers monthly products from April 2000 to December 2001. The dataset is a global monthly 1 km GeoTIFF product derived from MODIS surface reflectance and snow products using a Google Earth Engine workflow. For each month, this record provides two GeoTIFF files: 1. INDEX_YYYY_MM.tif Bands: (1) kNDMI_005_fixed (2) kNDMI_020_max (3) kSVMI (4) snow_fraction 2. QA_YYYY_MM.tif Bands: (1) valid_mask (2) qa_reason (3) n_valid_obs The INDEX files are stored as Float32 with NoData = -9999. The QA files are stored as UInt16. The qa_reason band uses a bitmask scheme for invalid pixels: 1 = no valid observation 2 = cloud contamination 4 = cloud shadow 8 = snow present during the month 16 = reflectance out of valid range This record is one temporal partition of the complete dataset spanning April 2000 to December 2024.
