Forest Inventory and Analysis - Eastwide

To distribute forest inventory and analysis plot data to
interested users in a common format for eastern states. This
data can be used to estimate current forest conditions for areas
in the Eastern United States.

Collection Organization: Southern Research Station, Northeastern
Forest Experiment Station, North Central Forest Experiment
Station.

Collection Methodology: Plot measurements from cluster plots of
10 sub-plots located over a one acre area. Sub-plots are
variable radius plots (37.5 BAF English) for trees 5"dbh+ and
small fixed radius sub-plots for trees < 5".

Collection Frequency: Approximately every 10 years.

Update Characteristics:

STATISTICAL INFORMATION:

110 characters per record; databases are stored by states
ranging in size from 2MB to 25MB.

There is a fee, per user, per state to obtain a copy of a data
file. Due to legal restrictions, information on name of land
owner and specific location of ground plots may not be
